Jujitsu literally means the “gentle art”. Our program emphasizes the ability of a weaker, smaller person to overcome a much stronger, larger opponent. Specifically geared for active kids and  women, Jujitsu teaches how to use the attacker’s force against oneself. Training includes a unique blend of traditional martial arts weaponry coupled with modern physical, mental and emotional drills. Jujitsu is an art that can be practiced throughout one’s life and at 24 years and counting, the Longmont YMCA Jujitsu class represents the Y’s oldest martial arts program. Classes are taught by Hanshi Miles McGaughey, 6th degree Black Belt with over 35 years experience in the martial arts.
